The recall campaign for Governor Gavin Newsom has reached the 1.5 million signature goal they needed, but the campaign says they still need signatures; and a big announcement is coming tomorrow.
Tom Del Becarro, chairman of the committee behind the campaign to recall Newsom, announced that they have crossed 1.5 million signature mark to hold a recall election. However, they received an extended out until March 17th. So they’re taking the remaining time to collect even more signatures in case some are not valid or thrown out.
EVERYONE: We have over 1.5 mill raw signatures but they are not all verified. My message is that 1.5m sounds great but is NOT ENOUGH. To ensure qualification we need 1.9 million. https://t.co/AagEb5mh6v https://t.co/nwN1JOxL5I
The campaign also sent out an email to their supporters regarding a big announcement that will be made this Friday, 12th at 7 PM.
