NFL Wildcard Round Expected To Shock9 minute read

Super Bowl LV is around the corner and the question is who will move on from the wildcard round. The format we are looking at right now has seven teams from each conference making the playoffs.

The top seed earned a bye into the divisional round, not six teams earning playoff berths with two byes for each conference.

The AFC will be hotly contested with the Bills and Steelers looking likely to topple the red empire of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The NFC is much more varied and anything goes, Tom Brady on his twelve visit to the playoffs can win the Super Bowl for the Buccaneers in their home stadium, which will be quiet a treat and a first in NFL history.

The likely competitors he will face are, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers or Russell Wilson and his Seahawks.

These are the dates to keep in mind.

The wildcard round consists of 3 matches on Saturday January 9, with 3 the next day. The divisional round happens on January 16 and 17. Conference championships will take place January 24. The Super Bowl will be on February 7.

The wildcard matches are as follows.

Top Seed

Kansas City Chiefs got the number one seed in the AFC with a 14-2 record, while the NFC’s number one seed was the Green Bay Packers with a 12-4 record.

What About The Pandemic?

The question is will Corona affect the post season fight. Players who test positive must sit out at least 10 days. That can be detrimental to any team if an outbreak happens.

Playoffs are single elimination. They are no replays and the NFL is not likely to reschedule matches.

The completion of the season is more important to the NFL than competitive fairness. Teams have to be more careful now and more strict in player behavior and limiting any contact.

Some stadiums are allowing fans to attendance, but it will be only at limited capacity. Either way, the matches to decide who moves forward will be a thrilling affair and the NFL playoffs will be a fantastic story weaved in the determination of the football warriors that fought through a pandemic just for a chance at the Super Bowl.

So, which team will you be rooting for in the playoffs?
