In a new viral video Republican Ohio State Representative Nino Vitale proves that wearing face masks are actually a health risk in of itself reducing oxygen levels and making it harder to breathe.
In the video Vitale uses a GX-2009 Portable Multi-Gas Detector by RKI instruments. A device that costs a few hundred dollars due to its accuracy.
Three students are used for the demonstration, each wearing different types of face masks. Vitale would ask them to put the instrument under their mask to measure the oxygen levels before and after. The oxygen level reading under the masks are alarming.
According to OSHA: “any atmosphere with an oxygen level below 19.5 percent to be oxygen-deficient and immediately dangerous to life or health.”
The read outs are as followed:
- Cloth mask reads a level of 17.
- N95 mask reads a level of 18.1.
- Standard surgical mask reads a level of 17.6.
