News from Nevada – From The White House’s Young Black Leadership Summit last month to a possible seat in Congress is where Leo Dunson hopes to be in 2020. Mr. Dunson – a political activist and Iraq veteran – announced his intent to run for the Nevada Congressional seat in the 4th district.
I’ve been following Leo’s YouTube channel for quite some time. I remember first coming across Leo. He spoke so passionately and eloquently I thought to myself, he’s bound to do more. So when I saw on Twitter he was announcing his campaign for Nevada Congress, I was ecstatic. I immediately contacted him via Twitter Direct Message requesting an interview and offering to help any way I could.
Well yesterday I gave y’all the bad news. Today, the good news is, that I am announcing my candidacy for Congress of the United States here in Nevada.

“I’m running for Congress because I believe that black America, and many of the minorities of America, needs to receive the message of Conservatism properly. They need to understand that having the right to bear arms is in the best interest for all of America.” – Leo Dunson via Video
Leo is Pro-Second Amendment for the people in Nevada
Leo points out in his video that Nevada has one of the highest violent crime rates. According to Statista, Nevada has a violent crime rate of 555.9, the 6th highest in the United States. He feels it’s important to give the citizens of Nevada the right to keep and bear arms.
“You’re living in – honestly – you’re living in the most crime – the highest crime area in Nevada! So, of course, you need the right to bear arms. The last thing you’d want to do is implement policy – gun control regulation policies and take that away.” – Leo Dunson via Video
