I hope these rumors about McGregor vs Mayweather 2 are bogus

Dana White calls it "dumb-shit".

I didn’t want to do this article, honestly. But it’s getting more mainstream coverage. I have to express my frustration with these early reports…

So the news came out earlier this week that the UFC, Mayweather, and McGregor had come to some sort of agreement. And the agreement that Conor and Floyd will be fighting again, but this time in the octagon. I know, cool right? Well, no. Not cool at all.

They may be fighting in the cage, but it won’t be a cage fight…

There will be no :

  • Kicking
  • Elbows
  • Takedowns

Omar Al Raisi on Twitter

@FloydMayweather will fight @TheNotoriousMMA in the octagon. With 4 ounce gloves, no shoes, 5-five minute rounds in 155 division. No kicks, no take downs, no elbows, no knees. Certain things will be allowed like the clinch.

What the hell is that? That’s not an MMA fight, it’s not a UFC fight, it’s a damn boxing match again. With the only difference is it’s going to be in a cage… Big whoop…

It’s important to note that there have been no official announcements made by either side or the UFC. The President of the UFC, Dana White did call the possibility of these “modified rules” being implemented is “dumb-shit”.

Dana White on Twitter

@themansmail661 @UFCInsiders @FloydMayweather @TheNotoriousMMA None of that is even close to true. Dumbest shit i have ever heard.

Another note of importance is that just because White says they’re untrue, doesn’t mean that they are. Remember what he said about McGregor vs Mayweather was “never going to happen”?

I highly doubt the UFC would allow this to happen at an actual UFC event. Now without the bogus rules, they probably would. And I would watch that in a heartbeat.

Come on Floyd, Conor stepped into your lane. Now its time for YOU to step up and enter his zone!
