Gun Control Debate: Authorities missed last four mass-shootings despite being warned

Since the horrific events that happened last week at a Florida school, the debate (as usual) has sparked up again. Every time one of these tragic occurrences happen, you can count the seconds before the Democrats and liberals call out the NRA, the 2nd amendment and law-abiding gun owners as the problem. But as they always do, they never think before they speak. Gun control doesn’t work, it never has, and never will. But as usual, they never look at the facts, and never want to have a healthy debate about gun violence. They just want to shut you down with the idiotic question “well you want everyone to have a gun, huh?”.

More laws?

The left wants more gun control laws passed and “THEY WANT IT NOW”. But let’s slow down for a second… What “laws” would have prevented the Florida school shooting? A waiting period? He would have just did it a few days later. A background check? Cruz (the shooter) passed that. So what law do you think would prevent criminals (keyword) from killing people? I’ll tell you. There isn’t one! Any law that is put in place will only make it harder for law-abiding citizens to get guns, not criminals. These people are criminals, meaning they break laws. So your answer is to make more laws?……….

It just doesn’t make any sense to me. To prevent the person who breaks the law and literally murders people, let’s make more laws.

So what is the answer? I really don’t know, and it’s not my job to know. I’m not a politician (yet). But I do think the focus should not be the gun, but rather the person using it. This guy Nikolas Cruz was flagged a number of times by the FBI and local officials. Yet nothing was done. The FBI even admits they didn’t even investigate the most recent report. What piece of legislation would have prevented that? We need to make sure people in our government are doing their job. A background check is going to do nothing if information was not entered in the database due to an “error”.

A lot of these individuals are mentally ill. Which tells me we have a mental health problem, not a gun problem. As Ben Shapiro says.

They just don’t work.

Sadly, these common sense gun laws such as background checks often fail. Three out of the four recent mass shootings inside of United States both got their weapons legally despite the fact they should not have been allowed to.

Daily Caller journalist Peter Hassan has a fantastic piece up today in regards to the failing of the FBI and background checks. I highly recommend you read it here. But here are a few of the points he makes:

  • 2015: Dylann Roof, shot nine people at a black church in Charleston. He was able to get a gun because of some mistakes made by FBI agents.
  • 2016: Pulse shooter Omar Mateen was investigated twice, but “nothing was found”. Although he pledged his loyalty to ISIS just months before, and the feds were aware of this..
  • 2018: A person close to Nikolas Cruz warned the FBI last month that he had a “desire to kill people” and could carry out a school shooting, the FBI admitted on Friday. The agency failed to act on the tip.
  • 2017: Devin Kelley, who shot up the First Baptist Church in Sutherland last year, got the gun – although he shouldn’t have been able to – due to an Air Force “error in filing“.

So in conclusion; before you start blaming guns, the second amendment or the NRA  look at how this happened. Not what was used, but how he got it, why he did it, and was there any warning signs?

FBI was too busy being anti-Trump and supporting Hillary Clinton to stop the Florida school massacre from happening. Despite being warned over and over.

When a police officer shoots an unarmed man you blame the police officer. When a horrific school massacre occurs, you blame the gun. Please explain this logic.
