Its game day every team is feeling like they are one game closer to their ultimate goal the Super Bowl.
So let’s start with the first game of the day.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be at home in Pittsburgh facing the Jacksonville Jaguars. The last time these two teams faced off in October the Jacksonville Jaguars came away with a 30-9 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. In that game, the Steelers look like they were beginning to collapse. Ben Roethlisberger threw 5 interceptions for the first time in his NFL career, Roethlisberger even contemplated retirement
There was clear frustration about his performance against the Jacksonville defense. But it wasn’t the first time that the Jaguars caused him trouble.
In the 14 seasons since Roethlisberger was taken by the Steelers with the No. 11 pick in the 2004 NFL draft, the Jaguars are one of only two opposing teams with a winning record at Heinz Field.
Since drafting Ben Roethlisberger in 2004, the Steelers have a losing home record against two teams (including playoffs).
Those teams are the Patriots (2-5)…..and the Jaguars (1-4)
This time though it is very different for the Pittsburgh Steelers, They are hungry and have something to prove since they lost to the Jaguars, and ever since that game the Steelers have not lost a game. The Steelers have some advantages. They have the loud and boisterous crowd in their favor and the Weather, today’s high will be 19 degrees and that will play a big factor against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Steelers will come out swinging watch out for their elusive back in Leveon Bell and the speedy wide receivers to have big games, JUJU Shuster will have a career day.
Now on to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They came out of nowhere this year and have been a Cinderella Story for the NFL, They won the first meeting between them and the Steelers, and this time they are ready to close this chapter and go for it all. Yes, the Jaguars have a decent quarterback who was a 1st round pick but that is not who has been carrying this team. The team has been carried by its high power defense and big-time sack leader Calais Campbell (14.5 sacks) and Shutdown CornerBack Jalen Ramsey (4int). The Jaguars have a very mediocre offense but a high power defense that has given every team they faced problems. Jacksonville will be tested by the Steelers defense.
So look for the Steelers to come out swinging and challenge the Jaguars with their own defense.
The Jaguars will not give up on either side of the ball and will be very pesky for the Steelers. They will probably score first and fast but the Steelers will adapt and pick them apart and score on both sides of the ball.
The Jaguars will make this a game because their defense will keep them in the game.
Final Pittsburgh Steelers 24 and Jacksonville Jaguars 14
