Milo Yiannopoulos has resigned from Breitbart9 minute read

I would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleagues

Help us fight censorship!

The conservative blogger, activist and author Milo Yiannopoulos has been through hell the past 48 hours after a old clip of him saying somethings that offend the easily offended. In the clip Milo makes some jokes during a live steam about child sexual abuse…

We get hung up on this sort of child abuse stuff. To the point where we are heavily policing even relationships between consenting adults, sort of grad students and professors at universities. This arbitrary and oppressive idea of consent which totally destroys ya know the – understanding that many of us have the complexity and subtlety of complicated nature of many relationships. People are messy in complex and in the homosexual world particularly some of those relationships between younger boys and older men, the sort of coming of age relationships, the relationships of those older men have helped those young boys discover who they are and give them security and safety and provide them with love and a reliable and sort of like a rock they they can’t get from the parents. Some of those relationships are some of the most – (interrupted) it sounds like priest molestation to me. – (Milo replies) yes but you know what I’m grateful for father Michael I wouldn’t give nearly such good head if it wasn’t for him.

Now his comments were a little distasteful but for anyone who is familiar with Milo knows that he says what he wants and doesn’t care about feelings. I honestly don’t think he is a pedophile, or a “pedophile sympathizer” as the media is portraying him to be. Milo had a press conference earlier today in which he talked about this, in that conference he announced that he is quitting from Breitbart news.

I will never stop making jokes about taboo subjects. Go into any drag bar or gay club and you will see performers cracking jokes about clerical sexual abuse. I am not afforded that same freedom, because the media chooses to selectively define me as a political figure in some circumstances, and a comedian in others.

But I said some things on those internet live streams that were simply wrong.

My employer Breitbart News has stood by me when others caved. They have allowed me to carry conservative and libertarian ideas to communities that would otherwise never have heard them. They have been a significant factor in my success. I’m grateful for that freedom and for the friendships I forged there.

I would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleagues’ important reporting, which is why today I am resigning from Breitbart, effective immediately. This decision is mine alone.

When your friends have done right by you, you do right by them. For me, now, that means stepping aside so my colleagues at Breitbart can get back to the great work they do.

I am so saddened to hear Milo leaving Breitbart. I am a big Milo fan, and still am. This is character assassination of another pro-Trump or “alt-right” individual, just as they did with General Michael Flynn. We must not fall for this crap! Milo made these comments a long time ago on a live stream, but they make it sound like it’s new “leaked” audio. Why do you think they’re just pushing this now? Because Milo has a book coming out that’s already a #1 best seller? SO they can use this to enforce more free speech censorship? To be able to say “you see what these Trump supporters think!”. Milo makes some bad comments as a joke, meanwhile John Podesta and others are clearly in Wikileaks talking about actual pedophile activities. Again we must not let them control the narrative.
