Man, much respect to Floyd Senior still getting a few rounds in at the gym. I hope I can still train at that age. Respect.

The fight will take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile arena. Dana White spoke on Sportscenter that they will be fighting at 154 pounds in the junior middleweight division and 10 ounce gloves will be used. It will not be a UFC event and will not be held on the UFC Fight Pass due to it being exclusively on Showtime. White also admitted that he resisted the fight for a while, but eventually had to give in due to the huge amount of buzz the fight rumor was generating not to mention the money that’s involved. The details of the contracts or payouts havent been released. ESPN has estimated the ticket sales to be 60.5 million. Mayweather made a massive pay check of 250 million from the Pacquiao fight.

Floyd, 44-0, is 40 years old and hasn’t fought in almost 2 years. While McGregor is 28, 21-0 (with 18 wins coming from knockout) just fought in November. The fight will be boxing rules and some reports say if McGregor kicks Mayweather there will be huge fines and even a potential lawsuit. McGregor will also be defending his UFC lightweight championship belt later this year.

So the real question is, can McGregor knock out or even beat Mayweather? Now I’m no big boxing fan and I won’t pretend I am, but I really dislike Floyd. So needless to say I’m rooting for Conor. But with that being said, I do think McGregor has a good shot at beating Floyd. Not only because Conor is bigger, but also because Conor has nothing to lose and I’m sure Floyd is underestimating Conor. I’m really looking forward to this fight.
