UFC President Dana White said last week in a statement that he has his guy (Conor McGregor) on board and his end of the contract signed. Now the next step is to get Mayweather’s team on board.
“The McGregor side is done,” White said while appearing as a guest on the network’s postgame wrap-up of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals. “I’m starting to work on the Mayweather side now.
“I’m not saying the fight will happen, but I’ve got one side done. Now it’s time to work on the other. If we can come to a deal with Haymon and Mayweather, the fight’s gonna happen.”
Let’s go get some boxing ones now son.
“The first, and most important part of this historic contract has now officially been signed off on,” McGregor said in a statement to Themaclife.com. “Congratulations to all parties involved. We now await [Mayweather’s adviser] Al Haymon and his boxer’s signature in the coming days.”
I am a big McGregor fan, and can’t stand Mayweather at all. So I am hoping that McGregor finds a way to knock Pretty Boy Flloyd OUT! And I think he can do it. Connor is much bigger and stronger than Floyd, and Conor’s striking is underrated, so Mayweather shouldn’t underestimate McGregor.
Reportedly Deadspin.com has signed a big contract to promote the fight for the UFC.
Also reportedly Las Vegas arena has reserved a date in June for the fight. So this fight is clearly happening. And if for whatever reason it doesn’t, it will be because of Mayweather’s side as McGregor is signed and ready. And imagine if Mayweather backs out of this fight, even for money reasons, Conor and others will never let him live it down.
