Running Back Christine Michael claimed off waivers from Seahawks3 minute read
Well the Packers finally have picked up a running back. Yesterday the Seattle Seahawks waived 4th year running back Christine Michael. Michael was the Seahawks leading rusher this season. Packers fans were blowing up the internet yesterday saying the Packers ‘better’ sign Michael. The Packers are destroyed in the backfield at running back, Eddie Lacy is out for the season with an ankle injury, and maybe done in Green Bay, veteran running back James Starks hasn’t done much to add a threat to our offense and wide receiver Ty Montgomery has been playing the hybrid position in the backfield and has played well but Montgomery has struggled with injuries as well. The good news is the Packers only have to pay Michaels $280,000 for the season.
Michael has great vision for a running back and is strong runner so I think he will do well in Green Bay and maybe he can add a spark we desperately need. Below are his stats from the last two seasons and highlights from earlier this year with the Seahawks…
2016: 117 carries for 469 yards, averaging 4 yds/att, 6 touchdowns
2015: 54 carries for 243 yards, averaging 4.9 yds/att, 0 touchdowns
